Your voice needs to be heard. I am seeing too many instances where parents and community are sitting on the sidelines and not getting involved in shaping tomorrow's education for our youth. Now that we are exposed to so many emerging web and mobile technologies, we must provide guidance more than ever.
My fear here is that both sides of this argument are so busy trying to gain a political stronghold that we are missing the point all together. A viable attempt was made to change the way the government assigns and distributes money to states for education. The program that preceded the current had just as many problems and critics. Therefore, I would caution you to look less at the problems and start focusing on solutions.
I firmly believe that emerging web and mobile technologies are the answer to many of the issues that exist in education today. Free flowing, well supervised, yet limitless possibilities of education exploration, creation and success. This environment of critique, criticisms and standards has got to go. Whose standards.....will always be the question? Measured and compared to what? Why must we put constraints on growth and exploration? Think about that for a minute!
